Imperial 8vo, X, with extensive photography plates and appendices, 207pp. Hardcover, d/w heavily scuffed but intact with minor soiling on rear as well, protected by clear archival covering, text in very good condition with minor discolouration on both front and rear endpapers. Written in three sections , the author firstly describes the architects and craftsmen of the first half of the 18th Century. He then describes the many “artifers”of the decorative detail of the famous architect Robert Adam. Thirdly, he has comprehensive lists of craftsmen of the Georgian Period preceded by extensive b/w photograpy plates of examples of plastering, wood working and metal working of the period. A most unusual and uncommonly covered subject.
