Description
8vo, XVII, 243pp. Hardcover in blue boards with black embossed front board and gilded title on the faded and slightly weakened, though still very sound spine with signifiicant shelf wear, text in very good condition with appropriate age tanning and a neat prior owner’s name from 1930 on the ffep. For the true devotee of opera, this description and analysis of seventeen great operas was written in 1909 and 1917, both volumes to be combined as this new edition in 1919 and reprinted in 1925 and 1928. Still a wonderfully serviceable book over the ages.
