Description

Roy8vo, 415pp., 344pp.,332pp.,322pp.. All four volumes in bright red burgundy cloth with gilt titles in gold on spines with top-edges red in excellent condition with first edition non price-clipped , illustrated d/w’s in overall excellent condition too, now protected in clear archival covering. Volume I has slight shelf-wear with a neat repaired two cm. tear to the top edge of spine. Nil damage to any other d/w however, internal texts are clean and devoid of any foxing or prior owner identifiers o/t neat pen written private gift inscriptions on ffep of volumes I and IV. Arguably Churchill’s greatest and most well known literary work, these volumes were written between the early 1930’s and the latter 1950’s as twelve independent books and though NOT signed by the author, a complete set of these four works in near fine condition is uncommon to see, being certainly rare in Australia, and hence has to be sold as a complete set rather than separately.
