8vo, XLV. 308pp. Hardcover in black cloth boards, gilt titles to front and on fore- edge with a gilt facsimile signature on the front board. Spine is firm with no prior owner identifications present . However, clearly has been utilised by a reading group with a list of members taped to the rear free endpaper for the purpose of ongoing handovers. Also has brown tape remnant on the rear paste down from a now non existent d/w and is only lightly rubbed on extremities so is in an overall very good condition, Text is in an excellent state internally. Has the publisher’s collophon on verso of title page and the original spelling error of Papadopoli on page 21 has been corrected too. This book was published several years after his preceding work and despite getting a variable and spiky critical reception it still spent seven weeks at the top of the New York Times Bestseller list.
