Roy8vo, XXXII, 237pp. Hardcover in coarse grey cloth with titles in large black and grey print that are slightly damaged with the capital L and E and W scratched or insect damaged on the front board but the cover is still in very good condition with a firm spine with otherwise undamaged titling and a small pictorial publisher’s wraparound with an internal quote by Leibowitz, all now protected by clear archival covering and no d/w as published, the text by Leibovitz is in pristine condition with unadorned clean endpapers and all b/w and colour photos likewise are in an excellent state, the book being virtually uncover-broken. Leibovitz’s work transcends art and has a magical quality, very well exhibited here in subjects ranging from Nixon’s resignation to Queen Elizabeth to War or the Rolling Stones. Arguably superior to a simple quarto size coffee-table book, this volume allows the photos and subjects to be more skilfully annotated in the context of her prolific work, without the illustration size overwhelming the reader.
