Despite the large text block, the spine is in a very good, tight condition and the binding is devoid of damage other than very minor bruising of two corners, plus top edge is blue and fore-edge is neatly rough cut with the original famous multicoloured first edition unclipped d/w with b/w photo of author on rear cover that is lightly but extensively chipped on all edges, now protected in clear archival covering, text is in excellent condition o/t light tape marks x4 on front and rear free endpapers so overall this book is in excellent condition with 10/57 code written on the bottom flap indicationg it is a true first edition d/w.
