24mo, 102pp. Hardcover with brown paper boards decorated in red and black chess board design in fair condition with tanned edges and worn extremities and with a repaired spine that is however now firmly intact with no absent pages text is in fair condition in a well-utilised book with yellowed pages throughout and foxing to the ffep though devoid of all prior owner identifiers and notations. Conciseness is the key to the value of this quaint reference said to be the 16th edition but is undated. Part I. deals with “Traps in the Opening” and Part II is labelled “Miscellaneous”. There are 134 examples with chess diagrams of situations exhibiting the approprately discussed traps and strategems. Brevity is however unlikely to reduce the value of these examples to the established mid-range chess exponent. Only for a very keen beginner however.
