Small 8vo, 63pp. Hardcover in publisher’s tan cloth with gilt title to spine and front board, virtually unmarked so in good condition with a still overall sound spine though areas of weakening are becoming obvious eg. webbing visible between pges 48-49. . The very rare d/w not present however, Text in good condition with no loose pages or extraneous notations, overall light page tanning present and both f.e.p’s more heavily discoloured with a little foxing as well. Undoubtedly a first edition containing some thirty-one brief but delightful verses suitable for children, young and older that have been gleaned from copies of Punch in the 1920’s and earlier and “published by arrangement with the Proiprietors of ‘Punch’ “. Harkens back to time of a more happy and contented simplicity.
