8vo, IV, 303pp. Hardcover in blue cloth with non-price-clipped light yellow d/w with a small torn piece from rear of upper spine that is lightly tanned, also with flecking to upper and fore-edge and is now protected by clear archival covering, text is in overall excellent condition with a small, neat gift inscription in black ink on the unadorned ffep. Auden made the choice and arrangement of his poems in this volume, said to be “the work of a genius”. A succinct collection by one of the world’s greatest and belongs as a highlight in any library of modern literature.
