Description

8vo, XVIII, 319pp. Hardcover, in pale green cloth covered boards with gilt titles plus a pictorial d/w., in a likewise excellent state, now protected in clear archival covering, text is still pristine and devoid of prior owner notations with no foxing or age paper tanning. Overall the book is in a near-fine state with beautiful unmarked green garden map endpapers. Many of Gertrude Jekyll’s writings were said to be a “great contribution to English gardening”, by arguably “the greatest artist in horticulture and garden-planting”; to some extent because of her ideas that garden design should take inspiration from paintings by capturing the colours and features of different flowers and plants. Colour schemes for the flower garden for the ambitious gardener.
