8vo, VII, 144pp. Hardcover in textured grey cloth with decorative artwork plate adhered to front board and title in gold gilt on a brown backing on a perfect tight spine allowing complete opening at rest with a decorative card slipcase, both in very good condition though there is early brown foxing to front and rear boards plus scuffing and rubbing to corners of the card slip-case, internal text and all the beautiful artwork (colour and b/w plates) throughout is in fine condition devoid of any foxing or prior owner marks printed on finest quality Silverblade Matt paper, plus as new deckle cream endpapers. This is an attractive compact summary of arguably one of the greatest of English landscape painters Constable and his artistic and private life that is at home in any library being ‘tight, bright, clean and strong’.
