Description
8vo, 317pp. Hardcover in original burgundy cloth with gilt titling on spine in fine condition as is the original non price-clipped d/w (very slightly faded to spine) with the classic artwork by D’Achille and a publisher’s wrap-around advising ‘Signed Copy’, now all enclosed in clear protective archival covering, text is “as new” with beautiful unmarked endpapers of b/w maps and drawings, totally devoid of any foxing or edge flecking or prior ownership markings. Author’s signature in fine blue pen is flat signed directly to the title page, not via a stick-in bookplate. Hence the book’s condition is clearly “near-fine or fine” overall. The twelfth and final book in the famous series from the 1867-8 Flashman Papers (as originally released to the public, not as a limited edition) set in Abyssinia in 1868, detailing the movements of the infamous cad and lecher, neatly signed by the author as above. A must buy for any Flashman devotee.
