Belonging to a series referred to as the Swallows and Amazons series, this book describes another adventure of Captain Flint with his crew of Swallows, Amazons and Scarabs (Walkers, Blacketts and Callums) as they take a large borrowed boat (the Sea Bear) into Scottish waters and the Outer Hebrides discovering rare birds one of which they think is the Great Northern Diver, hence the name. As always a marvellous read.
