8vo, XVI, 368pp. Hardcover in black cloth boards with gilt titling on spine in excellent condition with a non-price-clipped d/w in excellent condition also, now protected in clear archival covering, text and b/w photos are in excellent condition with minor black mould marks on both pastedowns but is still basically a new book There has been a lot written by and about Lawrence but this is actually a dedicated critical appraisal of his ideas on war, examining his guerilla campaign and his theories on strategy, juxtaposed against the operations conducted by the Ottoman Empire and those of the Allied army in Palestine. It has forty rare and intriguing b/w photograph illustrations grouped together in the centre of the book and several relevant clear maps as well.
