Sq8vo, XXXIII, 214pp. Hardcover with blue boards and attractive mapped endpapers in v/g condition and beige illustrated d/w in fair condition with a small partly repaired tear to the upper edge of the front cover, plus scuffing and discolouration elsewhere, now protected by clear archival covering, text in very good condition with some minor foxing also autographed on title page by both authors , with the name and stamp of the prior owner on ffep and title page with a hand written note to the same , thanking him for a copy of “The Ferries of Sydney’ lloosely adhered to the ffep with some discolouration from the adhesive overleaf as well as a folded A4 letter from the Canadian Minister of Transport in 1982, (thanking him for a pleasant tour of Sydney Harbour on a previous visit to Australia.), adhered inside the front board. The detailed stories of the ferries of Halifax harbour and the different communities on the shoreline is an intriguing window into working conditions and the social life of the time with also enormous attention to construction detail and the development of marine engineering, complete with pertinant b/w photos and illustrations throughout.
