Description

8vo, XXVII, 336pp. Hardcover in the standard bottle green cloth boards with gilt titling to a very tight spine with trivial corner and edge scuffing plus a partially price-clipped d/w with chipping to all corners and upper edges and a very small brown stain in the upper half of front cover, now protected in clear archival covering, text and the many b/w illustrations are all in a pristine state devoid of any foxing and only slightly tanned so this book is in an overall very good/excellent condition. So Missee Lee is a young, elegant and pedantic Chinese pirate (Cambridge educated) who creates a seriously exciting adventure as all the children and Captain Flint are now sailing round the world on a schooner called Wild Cat. Ransome’s zest and power of invention seems inexhaustible. Still an attractive copy after sixty plus years post publication.
