Description
8vo. XX. 304pp. Hardcover, in navy cloth boards with gilt title on a firm spine in excellent condition devoid of shelfwear or scuffing, though with flecking on all edges and with a clean crisp d/w with only a tiny spine abrasion now protected by clear archival covering, Light brown staining and foxing on segments of the fixed and free endpapers but no marks on any of the twelve masterful Rackham illustrations or on text elsewhere. Charles Lamb with his sister famously started his attempts at retelling classics for children in the early eighteen hundreds and this concise book is a good rendition of one of their most enduring titles made all the more attractive by Rackham’s additions.
