As part of their schoolwork, the children were required to keep diaries about their filming on location in the lakes and mountains of Cumbria. The Daily Mail at the time said :- “….a heart warming account of making the movie “. One does not need to be a Swallows and Amazons fan to thoroughly enjoy this book however with numerous photos all taken at the time of filming and planning. Inscribed by the author Sophie Neville (one of the children) on the title page as well in 2015.
