They arrived in 1839 from Dumfries to start life in the New England countryside. The authors are both knowledgeable historians, with Jillian also being a grazier and a direct descendant of this couple with her husband working as a senior lecturer at the nearby university.

Cover Excellent Condition - Note: The boards are covered by bright green cloth with gold titles on a very firm spine with minor bumping on the bottom spine edge but with still sharp corners with no bruising from shelf wear. The dust wrapper is largely in matching green with a photo on the front cover of the principal residence of the family and is now protected by removable clear archival covering too. - With Dust Wrapper
Overall Excellent Condition - Note: The text and all photos are in near fine condition, the entire book being devoid of all foxing or page damage and there is a neat pen inscription on the title page attributed to both authors.
