The book follows the history of a Scottish couple, Abraham and Mary Nevison, who came to Australia over 180 years ago to establish a home and several pastoral properties. They arrived in 1839 from Dumfries to start life in the New England countryside. The authors are both knowledgeable historians, with Jillian also being a grazier and a direct descendant of this couple with her husband working as a senior lecturer at the nearby university.
