Dubliners

Joyce, James
2003 (First Edition Thus). The Folio Society , London, England

Dubliners is a collection of fifteen short stories presenting a naturalistic depiction of Irish middle class life in and around Dublin in the early years of the 20th century. The original book publication by Richards in 1914 contained grammatical, spelling and word changes against the author's wishes and this edition has reverted to the originally conceived format first published in 1967. This edition has also been enhanced by eleven beautiful sepia photos included not as accurate reflections of individual stories, but as evocations of the life of the city and its inhabitants, published courtesy of the National Library of Ireland. Collectively the stories and additional photos on separate pages of Caxton Wove paper, paint a memorable portrait of the Irish and their nation.
