| Cover | Hardcover in pale red cloth in good condition with a gilt impression of pepys embossed original front board with minor shelf wear, T.E.Red and minor flecking and yellowing original all edges and no dust wrapper as issued. |
| Overall | Text in very good condition with delightful endpapers depicting London in 1660's both east and west of Whitefriars though there is some minor foxing of the first few pages and slight weakening of the front hinge as well as a book-plate of prior owner adhered sensibly to blank verso of the half-title page. no other notations obvious. |
