A very well researched book in a fine state "that is 'a must for any military person who could be faced with a small but elusive war in the future, or a reader interested in studying 'a war with a difference' ". Basically it is a detailed analysis of Australian involvement starting with the Brunei Rebellion by the TNKU movement in December 1962 that escalated when President Sukarno involved Indonesian troops and paratroops in support of the rebellion with the Sultan declaring a State of Emergency requiring two battalions of British and Gurkha troops to be deployed that then had to be supported by Australian troops, Navy and Airforce. The confrontation against Indonesia formally ending in August 1965 after nearly three years.
