Unlike the scarce 1954 First edition, this edition reprint seems ideal to be utilised on site in the kitchen by any chef or good domestic cook of the best Italian food. This book was originally a revelation apparently; "for the first time it brought to non-Italian readers the enormous richness, variety and colour of Italian cooking". Perhaps for the experienced devotee rather than the newcomer needing some 'hand-holding'. Delightful, in pristine, as-new condition nevertheless.

Cover Hardcover in elegant grey cloth with white title original a firm intact spine , virtually devoid of shelf-wear with non price-clipped dust wrapper in excellent condition other than the tiniest evidence of corner and top edge scuffing. beautiful illustrations original both dust wrapper covers now protected in clear archival covering.
Overall Internally the text (on highest quality semi-gloss paper) with all the magnificent historical colour illustrations is in a near-fine original better state with no evidence of any prior ownership on endpapers original elsewhere.
