Jock Of The Bushveld - Prize Edition, Abridged

Fitzpatrick, Sir Percy
1908. Longmans, Green and Co , London, England

This is a true story by a South African author of his travels in the Transvall with his dog, Jock, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross during the 1880's. From the earliest days of choosing the runt of the litter who immediately knew Fitzpatrick was his master, Jock grew into a fine and fearless dog about whom the author would relate to his children in bedtime stories about multiple adventures. A beautiful book that has been reprinted over a hundred times , this very early edition has eight full page black and white illustrations and stunning black and white drawings on all pages throughout . A very well loved edition for over a hundred years, this is an absolute classic South African book. Several statues of the dog are in existence and movies have been made in 1986, 1994 and 2009. One of the very best dog stories in existence.
