Merchant Campbell

Collins
, Sydney, Australia
Of the 'Australians In History Series' this book is a beautifully approachable story about a trader in the young colony of Sydney, his importance to the welfare of the settlement and his eventually successful breaking of the business monopoly of the officers of the NSW Corp. and the Rum Rebellion. Notable country properties of his were Yarralumla and Duntroon. Beautifully illustrated with clever black and white pen drawings throughout. One of the earliest "free-traders".
