Merinos, Myths And Macarthurs

Garran, J.C. and White, L
1985 (First edition). Australian National University Press , Sydney, Australia

Being somewhat disparaging of the famous John Macarthur, the book is an excellent and easily readable tracing of the origins, genetics and development of sheep in Australia by an important Australian sheep-breeder and historian John Garran who left the original manuscript detailing years of intensive research when the died in 1976. Substantial editing, revisions and additions to this text were undertaken by another 'wool and sheep' expert , Leslie White. History rewritten and myths debunked.
