Over the centuries, there have been a large number of translations and different editions done most notably the 1955 New York publication by The George Macy Companies but this Collector's Edition was published exclusively for subscribers to the Easton Press collection of the 100 Greatest Books Ever Written and hence is rare in this fine state and much reduced price. Each page opening comprises the original classic Greek on the left and with Francis Storr's English translation opposite. It also has an excellent introduction by the triple Pulitzer prize winner, the famous Thornton Wilder.
