Prehistoric and Primitive Art
1969 (Thus).
Thames and Hudson
, London, England
This is certainly the definitive work on this subject with 51 beautiful tipped-in colour photographs and 438 black and white plates as well. This book is from the extensive private library of Lewis Morley (arguably regarded as the greatest of British photographers for many years) and his Graphic Artist wife, Patricia; the library being "accumulated from the 1950's to 2013, representing two lifetimes of shared creative pursuit." The segments on Prehistoric Art and Oceania Art have been translated from Spanish and German respectively.
