Royal Netherlands Navy
The outbreak of WWII saw the Dutch Navy in decline but with some urgent rebuilding and with the war being largely a land campaign, partially completed and undamaged vessels became a very welcome ally to the hard-pressed British forces. . Not so fortunate as the Japanese Navy was unleashed in 1941, the Dutch Navy in the Middle East nevertheless drew the highest praise including a great reputation for outstanding design and technical prowess. The author has excellent black and white photos of the vessels in this small reference book that exhibits the features of great Dutch design and a fighting reputation.
