Stag Party

This is a "cracking good read" as evidenced by its reprinting within two months. It is an account of the doings of "Government Deer Shooting Party Number six" in the bush and in the city. The dialogue is laconic, sometimes boisterous and even coarse as this Canadian author describes this tough, self-reliant bunch of New Zealanders at work and his often very humorous style shows his great admiration for them. A book for anyone familiar with a New Zealand farmer, sportsman or woodsman and really difficult to put down.
