Summer Cooking

David, Elizabeth
Collins Australia for Dorling Kindersley , Sydney, Australia

Her hallmark message remains pertinent today with ingredient freshness being sought by all reasonable restaurants. The mood of the book is that of a holiday and to quote the great lady:"you are on holiday (even if the butter melts and the wine is not cool enough). You are in company of your own choosing. The air is clean. You can smell wild fennel and thyme, dry resinous pine needles, the sea. For my part, I ask for no greater luxury. Indeed I can think of none." A glorious epistle best at home on the kitchen bench for inspiration for all cooks.
