Women of Hornsby Shire - Selected Lives

Powell, Jocelyn (Editor)
2012. Deerubbin Press and Hornsby Shire Council , Sydney, Australia

Produced by Hornsby Council for their Centenary from 1906 to 2006, this is an exploration of the lives and work of fourteen important women who lived in the Hornsby Shire. Two were born in the mid to late 1800's, six in the years to 1910 and the remainder in the first fifty years of last century. All were intelligent, resourceful and enterprising, contributing to society in many ways. Not all are widely known outside of the shire other than perhaps Betty Archdale but they each have their own inspiring story.
