Suyin, Hans
1954. The Reprint Society for Jonathon Cape Ltd. , London

A bestseller since its first publication in 1952, this work is strongly autobiographical despite being framed as a novel. On the surface, it is a famous romantic story of great depth and pathos, but it also provides significant historical perspective regarding China and the diverse people inhabiting Hong Kong in the mid-20th century.
