The Godfather
2020.
Folio Society
, London, England
This is a beautiful presentation copy of Puzo's novel with hand produced artwork as a frontispiece and with eleven other colour plates (two of which are double-page,) so obviously the artwork is not simple reproduction from the famous film. In a bright red Folio slipcase with a black horse head boldly printed on the front, it is still enclosed in the publisher's original plastic wrap too, so it is unopened and genuinely brand new. Hence it is said to have a dark top with red endpapers and a red ribbon marker and is the first illustrated edition of this title.
