Armand Guillaumin
1991.
Alice D. Gray
, Geneva
This French painter (1841-1927) was an impressionist landscape artist and lithographer, well connected in the French Impressionist school and good friend and associate of the much better known Cezanne and Pissarro and while the never achieved the stature of his two friends, his influence on their work was significant. Little known by the normal modern art aficionado, both Christopher and Alice Gray have produced a book of great depth and poise with magnificent colour and black and white art photography throughout. . Certainly an uncommon if not rare book about a little studied French Impressionist.
