Big Sur

Kerouac, Jack
1962 (First edition, first printing). Farrar, Straus and Cudahy , New York, United States

Almost as famous as his seminal 'On The Road', this novel is again semi-autobiographical, with a character's battle " with depression, the pressure of fame and alcoholism, a downward spiral which the attempts to combat by seeking solace in the wilderness," using Ferlingetti's cabin in Big Sur, California."Despite the pessimism, Kerouac's witty and humorous writing style" still shines through, being thus a great literary exploration for every Beat devotee.
