Sex In Life - Young Men

White, Dr. Douglas
circa 1930. British Social Hygiene Council , London, England

Likely to have originated via the Canadian Social Hygiene Council before being published in England and thence by the Racial Hygiene Association of NSW in Australia in the 1930's. In 1960 this organisation became the Family Planning Association of Australia though this example is an English production predating any Australian effort. It is one of a set of three little booklets and they exhort young men 'to strive after and to live by the highest ideals of sex'. There is significant racial commentary throughout but much of the book is to do with the 'physical evils' of the venereal diseases (STD's) syphilis and gonorrhoea. An interesting window into fairly recent medical history. Very scarce and in great condition too.
