The Bedside Wilde "Classics For Pleasure"

Wilde, Oscar
1993. Chancellor Press , London, England

An unusual book that is really intended for those who are new to Wilde's work, as well as for enthusiasts. Basically it is a delightful anthology with some of his best known works of fiction, drama and poetry as well as many that are less familiar. There are extracts from Dorian Gray, The Importance of Being Earnest and An ideal Husband plus complete and unabridged renditions of The Happy Prince, The Ballad of Reading Gaol and The Nightingale and the Rose plus selections from his letters and essays too. A pretty good Wilde entry point for the first-timer.
