The Catcher in the Rye

Salinger, J.D
Hamish Hamilton , London, England

Somewhat surprisingly now attracting prices equivalent too or in excess of the scarce US First edition, it has always been "a controversial novel originally published for adults, it has since become popular with adolescent readers for its themes of teenage angst and alienation....dealing with complex issues of innocence, identity, belonging , loss and connection. The novel was included in Times' 2005 list of the 100 best English-language novels written since 1923 [Brainerd Phillipson Rare Books and James M. Pickard Books]. Certainly quite scarce also.
