The Coming Race
Undated c.1870.

, London, England
A later 19th Century Science Fiction book about the discovery of an underground race of advanced beings with strange powers who are planning to leave their subterranean existence and conquer the world. Strangely it has been seen by a number of book critics as a poorly concealed account of hidden wisdom, a theory that apparently has attracted a number of unusual acolytes, including Adolf Hitler. It is written in an older style of quirky English and its supenseful malevolence makes it challenging to read but equally difficult to 'put down'. A great example of earlier Science Fiction.
