This is a very famous adventure novel that was originally serialised from 1844 to 1846 and was then published in 1846 in book form. It remains one Dumas' three most popular works. It is about a young sailor falsely imprisoned for treason on his wedding day who escapes captivity after fourteen years to discover a hidden treasure and then becomes a wealthy , enigmatic Count who carefully seeks revenge against those who betrayed him in the past. Complete and unabridged in a smaller than average typeset too.

Cover Excellent Condition - Done in fine green cloth, quarter bound in dark green leather and with an attractive gilt titled sound spine that has five raised bands and soft, slightly worn top and bottom spine ends but is devoid of significant bumping or chipping.There is minor soiling to the front board edge only and there is no wrapper as issued.- No Dust Wrapper as issued
Overall Very Good Condition - Internally there is some page edge toning and widespread book edge flecking but the only foxing involves the verso of the front and rear of the beautifully marbelled green and gold free endpapers. As mentioned it is done with quite fine print size but all pages are secure as is an attractive protected black and white frontis plate. On the second free front endpaper there is also a beautifully written gift inscription in 1908 to and from persons unknown.
