The Flight Of The Mind- The Letters of Virginia Woolf- Volume I 1888-1912 (Virginia Stephen)
1975 (First Edition).

Interestingly, the editor is the son of the late Harold Nicolson ( partner of Vita Sackville-West at Sissinghurst) hence keeping literary works on the Bloomsbury Group 'in house' so to speak. This is only Volume One, covering the formative period of her life, from childhood to her first marriage to Leonard Woolf at age 30 and these letters are some of the best to survive from the pre WWI years as young people were challenging deeply entrenched conventions.

| Cover | Hardcover in pale blue cloth and gilt titles original a firm spine, with bruised corners and edges and a small pale stain original the front board with a dark pink non price-clipped dust wrapper ( bearing a drawing of a pen and pencil) that has a sunned spine with minor chipping to top and bottom and is now protected by a clear archival covering. |
| Overall | Despite being a very tidy ex-library book, the internal text is in a very good state though with tape markings and soiling on both front and rear endpapers and a roughened patch on the front pastedown from the removal of the prior library card-pocket, plus two pale neat library stamps on verso of title page that don't detract from its overall good condition. there is foxing on all edges though all photos and illustrations are in unmarked good order with a photograph portrait frontis of a beautiful Virginia. |
